The first solo musical offerings from James Collins, drummer for Maybeshewill & Sœur.

'Initial Ideas' has been an experiment fuelled by lockdown and a drive I find within myself for being productive in the worst of times.

My debut EP started life as an acoustic project with the intention of recording and producing it all within my van (home) whilst on my travels, with being bound to Bristol it morphed through the autumn months into a full instrumentation offering.
It's about as DIY as you can get. I play all the parts. I recorded, produced and unfortunately mastered it all in a cold and lonely rehearsal room using a PC that's about 15 years old. It's been a very slow and arduous challenge but also a necessity, for my own mental health.
I seem to be my most musically productive when the difficult times of life surround me, escapism I suppose you call it. Anyway I hope you enjoy and I hope there'll be more to come in the future, James.
